Do not decide from the fuel type alone. Check whether your registration or recognised vehicle marking gives you an exemption at your destination.

Recognised electric-vehicle identification

Munich’s official guidance says that vehicles with a German E registration number no longer need an emissions sticker there from 1 October 2026. For a foreign vehicle, check the accepted identification and local exemption rules. Do not assume that a foreign electric number plate is treated in the same way. If you cannot rely on an exemption, check the normal sticker requirement.
