You need to check the places you will drive, not just the country you are visiting.
Crossing the border
An emissions sticker is not a general permit to enter Germany. The requirement concerns designated low-emission zones. You may cross the border without passing through one, but the final roads to a hotel or car park can still be inside a zone.
Check the whole route
Look at your destination, overnight stops and any city you plan to visit. On the map, open the city details and check the official source where local restrictions matter.
Foreign vehicles
A foreign registration does not by itself exempt a vehicle. Where a sticker is required, it must match the registration number and be displayed correctly.
Before you buy
Check whether your vehicle has a specific exemption and whether a separate diesel restriction applies. The green sticker is not a promise of unrestricted access.
